Flag Fundraiser 2009

This is how we used to post flags two years ago for our flag fundraiser. The boys, then shortly the leaders, would pound rebar into the ground. Then we placed the PVC pipe with US flag on the rebar. The new method is so much easier. A piece of PVC pipe is pounded into the ground one time and capped. All we have to do is remove the cap and place the flag into the PVC pipe.

Flag Fundraiser

It is that time of year again. Troop 699's flag fundraiser is right around the corner. Get your annual subscription and you can have the Scouts of Troop 699 post an america flag in your lawn for four holidays a year. Funds go to support Troop 699 summer camp and our 2012 Philmont trek. We also need help selling flags and posting flag holders. Contact Sister Rasmussen for more information. Thanks to everyone who has helped.

Coastal District Awards

Coastal District held their annual awards banquet 23 January, 2011, for outstanding work that volunteers performed in 2010 for Scouting. Sister Alisa Rasmussen recieved the unit Spark Plug Award where she was instrumental in providing the "Spark" that helped make Troop 699 Flag Fundraiser successful. Her efforts enabled sixteen Scouts from Troop 699 to attend Summer Camp for the second year in a row at El Rancho Cima.

Brother David Dickamore was awarded the Coastal Districts Lighthouse Award. This is a local District award. As Scoutmaster, Brother Dickamore has served as a "shining” example of the principles of scouting, through his exemplary support of the BSA program.
